You are responsible for the submission of your employees’ enrollment information. All new employees, including reemployed retirees, must be electronically enrolled in SERS using eSERS. They also must have a completed a SSA-1945 Form on file with SERS.
To enroll an employee, use either the “Upload Enrollment Files” or the “Manual Entry” options on eSERS. See the File Specifications Guide for help uploading enrollment files on eSERS.
You must first enter a Member Enrollment before reporting a Contribution Record.
Federal regulations require you to also submit a SSA-1945 Form, which explains how public employment may affect Social Security benefits. You must submit a copy to SERS once it has been signed by the employee. These forms can be submitted through eSERS, faxed, or mailed.
