Annual Statement Balance and Payment

At the conclusion of each fiscal year, SERS issues an Employer Statement which recaps the fiscal year’s activity.

The information reflected in the “Employee Activity” box of the statement comes from your CDRs. These figures include any contracted service reporting under your Employer Identification Number. Payments also include employer and contractor payments.

At the bottom of each statement is a field that shows the amount of employer overpayment or underpayment.

Any “Amount due to District” will be refunded to the employer within 30 days of the statement date. The statement date is found in the bottom left corner of the statement.

Any “Amount due to SERS” is due to SERS within 30 days from the statement date. The statement date is found in the bottom left corner of the statement. This amount may only be paid by direct payment.

If the amount payable is less than $50.00, SERS will not issue a refund unless specifically requested. Any underpayment less than $50.00 may be carried forward into the next fiscal year.

If you are a Foundation-qualified district and you have an annual statement balance due to SERS, this balance is not paid through the Foundation Program.

If you owe SERS or if you are receiving a large refund each year, you may adjust your Salary Estimate at any time.
